A fire in a goods truck carrying magnesium phosphide forced the A2 to be closed this Thursday, in the North-South direction, between the Marateca junction and the Setúbal junction.
The alert was given at 12:04 pm. Civil Protection source told CM Although the fire on the truck has already been extinguished, the cargo continues to burn as it is a material that reacts to water.
The same source reported that at 2 pm the South/North direction was also closed due to the fire.
On site are the Palmela Firefighters supported by the Setúbal Sapadores Company and a specialized team of firefighters. A total of 22 operational and 10 vehicles.
