By habit, we think of cats as pets that we keep inside the house, and dogs outside. It all depends on who lives in the apartment and who lives in the house and what our life obligations and habits are. Four-legged pets are individuals just like us, but there are some general characteristics of certain breeds that tell us that some of them prefer to spend time inside than outside.
When it comes to dogs, there are breeds that require less space to expend their energy and are generally more appreciative of being kept indoors. This does not mean that they do not need attention and care at all, but that overall they will be a little calmer than other dogs.
They will still love to go for a walk and are not necessarily breeds recommended only for people living in buildings, but they will also keep you company while watching your favorite series.
Basset
It suits them best to be inside and without too many obligations.
At least one outing for a walk is mandatory, which he will certainly enjoy, but upon returning home he will immediately resume his nap.
Bulldog
They need physical activity so that they do not have problems with excess kilograms, but this should not be exaggerated.
They know how to be sensitive to long exposure to the sun and too high temperatures, and they like to “lift up on all fours”.
King Charles Cavalier Spaniel
They represent one of the most adaptable dog breeds, which will love to play with children outdoors, but also to crawl under the covers on the couch.
Their habits will depend on yours and will follow your family’s activities.
Chihuahua
They will follow you every step of the way as long as you are in your home and are happy to go out for short walks, but they do not need a lot of activity and exercise.
They suit people who live in apartments because of their size, but the upbringing is still up to you.
Chow Chow
Yes, they are a little bigger in size, but they don’t like to walk too much and interact with strangers and dogs.
They are most beautiful with their family, to whom they are usually extremely devoted, and in many habits they resemble cats.
Tulear dog
Gentle, soft and irresistible, that’s how these dogs could be described in short. They are active and love to play, but all their needs can be met at home.
The only important thing is to get them lots of toys so they don’t get bored.
Maltese
Not only are they adaptable to your lifestyle, they are not too loud either.
They are calm by nature and are perfectly suited to keep you company in the home, whatever you are doing at the moment, and they will be grateful for every moment of attention.
Pug
They need a lot of exercise to stay fit, but not too much, so they don’t overexert themselves and overheat
They represent one of the most popular urban breeds due to their adaptability, but also their dedication to the family.
Char pei
They are very loyal to their family and will try to protect it at all costs, because they don’t like strangers too much.
It is important that they are in contact with other dogs when they are small and that they are well trained, so that they do not become aggressive and distrustful.
