The North American space agency explains that this astronomical phenomenon occurs when the Earth crosses the orbit of a belt of fragments from the asteroid Phaethon. This causes the meteor shower or “star shower.”

At what time, where and how to see the Geminid meteor shower?

The POT recommends that in order for you to enjoy this astronomical event, you begin to observe the sky starting at 9 p.m., especially today. December 14th. This 2023, the observation of the Geminids will not have the intervention of the Moon, so the conditions are optimal.

The Geminid meteor shower can be seen throughout Peru without the need for special objects such as telescopes or binoculars. To be able to observe it fully, they must look for dark places, preferably away from pollution to live a unique experience.
