People Believe Lil Tay’s Death Is A “Hoax” As Viral Star’s Father Declines To Confirm Her Death

Culture and trends

Yesterday, a post on Lil Tay’s (Claire Eileen Qi Hope) official Instagram claimed the viral star had passed away. “The outcome was entirely unexpected,” the statement read, “and has left us all in shock.” It mentioned that her brother, Jason Tian, had also died.

The announcement stunned audiences, and news outlets began covering Hope’s “sudden” passing. However, her father – Christoper Hope – declined to comment on the situation, leading others to believe the report may be a “hoax.” Here’s what we know so far.

Lil Tay’s Dad Declines To Comment

There’s something strange about this whole thing. According to Insider, law enforcement in Los Angeles and Vancouver, Canada (the two cities Lil Tay has lived in) have no active death investigations involving anyone named Claire Hope. Likewise, LA-based police nor the medical examiner had any information on this either.

Her mother, Angela Tian, informed Insider years ago that Jason Tian controlled Lil Tay’s Instagram at one point. The website revealed that the young girl’s account was used to level “baseless allegations against her father during a bitter custody dispute.” In 2021, Jason claimed on a GoFundMe page that Lil Tay’s “absentee father” abused her and controlled her accounts and finances, showing photos of the young girl covered in bruises.

When outlets reached out to Christopher Hope, he told Insider he could not comment on the news and declined to confirm whether or not his daughter was dead. That’s weird, typically parents are the first to be notified in these situations. Strangely enough, the rapper’s former manager – Harry Tsang – told the outlet the situation called for “cautious consideration.”

“Given the complexities of the current circumstances, I am at a point where I cannot definitively confirm or dismiss the legitimacy of the statement issued by the family,” Tsang wrote in an email to news outlets. “This situation calls for cautious consideration and respect for the sensitivities involved. My commitment remains focused on delivering updates that are both reliable and appropriately timed.”

“In times like these, it is imperative that we prioritize accuracy and empathy,” Tsang added. “I encourage everyone to rely on reputable and official sources for information. We must exercise patience while awaiting further developments before drawing any conclusions.”

Someone Who Appears To Know Jason Tian Says Something Is Off

Ishan Goel, founder of Goel Strategies marketing agency, claims he spoke to Lil Tay’s brother just one week prior to the announcement of her purported death. “About a week ago, jason (the brother) confirmed to me that he was confident they would win the legal battle against their father and get full right over all the accounts and money. then this happens has me really sketched out,” he wrote in a comment.

He continued, “all i know is tay was about to win the legal battle and get rights and access to everything again and this happens!?? something is really off.”

X Users Suggest the Death Announcement Was AI-Generated

@BluesDank on X tweeted, “Not trying to be insensitive but these two are notorious liars and I also just asked Chat GPT to write a statement with very few buzzwords and it gave me almost word for word the same statement. Seems suspicious.”

Another X user claims he placed the death announcement into an AI text classifier to find out if it was AI-generated. The AI detection score results are concerning, stating that it may have been 0% original and 100% AI.

It’s worth noting that there has been news that there is a Lil Tay crypto coin, though there isn’t much information on this yet.

@imangelatian on Instagram Claims Lil Tay Is Alive

An Instagram account (@imangelatian) asserts that she is Lil Tay’s mother and her daughter is still alive.

“My daughter is not dead, her father Christopher Hope needs to be permanently removed From all visitation With My Child I Have Her & we would’ve been closing our case this coming Sunday with all rights and this is the outcome we get Do not believe this at all this is 100% incorrect information – Angela Tian,” the caption on her post read.

Needless to say, whoever is handling the Lil Tay Instagram account needs to be identified.
