Bachelor in Paradise alum Sarah Herron just revealed that she actually nominated her own father to be The Golden Bachelor. Of course, he didn’t get the role since Gerry Turner has been named and is currently filming the premiere season. Sarah Herron nominated her dad for The Golden Bachelor
US Weekly shared what Sarah Herron had to say about nominating her dad for The Golden Bachelor. She said, “I nominated my dad. And he got through, like, the first round of casting or whatever.” She nominated him when the show first started advertising for the role years ago before the pandemic kicked off.
Sarah went on to say, “And he never got the callback and now it’s airing and I’m a little bummed out ’cause I thought my dad was gonna be the Golden Bachelor!”
She revealed that her dad would have definitely into being the new lead. Sarah shared a funny story about it involving April Fool’s Day. She said, “As a matter of fact, this most recent April Fool’s Day, he got me so good because he said something about like, ‘I just got my last callback or something.’ He was, like, too specific and I was like, ‘Oh my God, are you kidding? You’re gonna be the Bachelor?’ And he was like, ‘April Fools.’”
Sarah concluded by saying, “He would’ve done it, for sure.” She thinks it would have been fun to go on and give her dad tips should he have gotten the role.
Of course, she also noted that there must be many single parents throughout Bachelor Nation.
Rumors that Matt James’ mom is joining the show
There have been rumors that Matt James’ mom Patty is joining The Golden Bachelor. However, if she is her family and friends are staying closed-lipped. Matt and Rachael Kirkconnell were asked if the rumors were true. They denied it and said they knew nothing.
Even Matt’s best friend Tyler Cameron didn’t have any inside information or none that he would admit. He did say she would be a blast on the show and is super sweet.
When asked about his own dad joining the show, Tyler said he tried to convince him but his dad is happily dating in Florida. He said, “Man, I was trying to throw him out there, but he says he is busy. He says he’s got a lot of girlfriends these days. He’s on the Golden Bachelor — it sounds like — here in Jupiter.”
So far the cast list for Gerry Turner’s season remains unknown.
