The nature park, which has an area of ​​368 hectares and is 27 kilometers away from Borcka town center, is located in the northwest of the Karçal Mountains, at an altitude of 1550 meters above sea level. The nature park, which stands out with Karagöl, which was formed when the Aralik Stream was blocked by a landslide in the early 19th century, attracts attention with its untouched nature, old forests, vegetation, walking paths and camping areas.

The nature park, located on the route of the Camili (Macahel) Basin, Turkey’s first and only biosphere reserve area, and shown as one of the paradise corners of the country, started to welcome its visitors as the weather warmed and nature revived. Borcka District Governor Hakan Contarlı told the AA correspondent that Borcka Karagöl is the pearl of Artvin and the most important tourism center with Macahel, which was declared Turkey’s first and only biosphere reserve area by UNESCO. Pointing out that the region has a rich plant diversity, Contarlı said:

“What attracts tourists here is nature tourism. It has different beauty in four seasons, especially autumn and spring. It is a geography that should come and see. Karagöl is an untouched, beautiful area. It is a region that receives nearly 1 million tourists annually. Every tourist who goes on a tour to the Black Sea should see “1 million visitors are not enough for Borcka Karagöl, we want to exceed this number. We want people to come here in droves.”

Yusuf Gültekin, who came to Borçka Karagöl Nature Park as part of the Black Sea tour he went on with his wife for their honeymoon, said, “Karagöl is a perfect natural wonder. We really liked the two together.” said. Cem Keskin, coming from Gümüşhane, stated that Artvin is one of the most beautiful provinces of Turkey.

Stating that he has been to Borçka Karagöl Nature Park 4 times before, Keskin said, “This is a place that we can describe as ‘a corner of heaven’. It is one of the advertising faces of the Black Sea. İlknur Karaduman emphasized that Karagöl, which she visited from Çanakkale with the advice of her friends, was a more beautiful place than she expected.

Muhammet Uğur Murat stated that he really liked Borçka Karagöl, which he visited coming from Erzurum, and said, “The lush green nature, as well as the snow cover.
