Human remains were discovered in a remote area of the county in December 2022, and they were later identified as belonging to Fowler, according to Smith.
The day before she disappeared, she was last spotted. The Georgia Bureau of Inquiry and the FBI have helped with the missing person inquiry over the past two years since she originally vanished.

Olivia left her boyfriend’s Short Street home at 2:00 a.m. Olivia was gone when he awoke in the morning. Around 7:30 am, locals claimed to have seen her wandering through the neighborhood.
A ranger with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources observed Olivia wandering along Pebblebrook Road about 10:30 in Meriwether County, not far from Manchester.
This has been Olivia’s final confirmed sighting. Since her disappearance, Olivia hasn’t been seen or heard from. Her youngest child turned one without her being there.
Her family was unable to find her, so on August 14, 2021, they reported her missing to the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office.
Georgia Mom Confirmed Dead Two Years After Going Missing
In the press release, Smith stated that “this missing person case has been investigated by us and other supporting agencies, especially the FBI, Columbus Resident Agency.”
They have been crucial in providing materials to help our staff. This case will now be labeled as a death investigation rather than a missing person case.
The inquiry is still being conducted. Smith stated that there is “much evidence to be analyzed and processed,” but did not specify if the death was being looked into as suspicious.
“The family requests that they be allowed to properly grieve this recent news and to be supportive of them during this difficult time,” Smith said.
The Fowler family wants the public to be aware that Olivia was more than just a mother; she was also a daughter, a sister, a grandchild, and a significant family member.
