The Golden Spoon, and many more.

But there is one common denominator among the roles he has starred in so far: none of them are for rom-com plots.

In a recent KTown4U fansign event, a fan took the opportunity to ask the star why he has rejected lead roles in romance comedies. His answer was proof of his dedication to his projects!

According to Sungjae, he wants some time to pass before he appears in rom-coms because he still doesn’t know what love is like. He hopes to experience romance first hand before pursuing a role that requires him to act like he’s in love.

Personally, I’d like to tackle that after I’m a bit older. I just… don’t know what love’s like yet. (Laughs)

We’ve been asking him to star in a rom-com before he turns 30, but he says he doesn’t know love yet,” the fan confirmed.

This just goes to show that Sungjae chooses characters that he resonates with so as to give his best performance each time. It must be one reason why his acting skills are top-notch!
