With this drink you will forget about the weeds in the garden

Many gardeners are simply convinced that there is no better weed control than weeding. But there are more effective and easy-to-use methods. One of them involves the use of an affordable drink.

Vodka against weeds in the garden

So, to facilitate and speed up the eradication of weeds, you need to prepare a special solution consisting of 150 ml of vodka and 1 liter of water. This product should be poured into a spray bottle and sprayed on the soil three weeks before the planned planting of the crops. Thanks to the solution, weeds will no longer appear during the season.

One spray and you forget about weeds – that’s what

There is another method based on strong alcohol.

In this case, you need to dilute 25-30 ml of vodka in 0.5 liters of water, add a few drops of washing-up liquid and use the solution to spray the weeds in the garden.

The procedure should be carried out in the midday heat every day, taking care not to affect the garden plants. This method in the active season is more preferred for application in garden paths. After that, you can be sure that the weeds will quickly dry out and will no longer bother you with their presence.

You can prevent unwanted vegetation from growing in your garden by using non-woven mulching material. It does not let in the light and thus does not allow the development of weeds. In this case, the seeds that are in the soil continue to be in “standby mode” and after the mulching material is removed, they will begin to germinate at the earliest opportunity. Strawberries are usually grown this way. However, this method is quite suitable for other crops: tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, lettuce.

If you have not cultivated the garden for a long time, after you decide to plant garden crops in it, you will certainly face a serious problem – a significant variety of weeds. The good old method will help you in this case – planting potatoes. Even if you do not get rid of unwanted vegetation completely, this culture will significantly suppress its development. However, the most effective and ecological option in this case is mulching with a thick (30–40 cm) layer of straw. However, it should be noted right away that this method requires a lot of time to give results – it will take 1-2 seasons until all the stems and roots of the weeds die under the impermeable layer of straw. At the same time, earthworms will begin to process the straw into vermicompost, thereby increasing soil fertility. But, as in the case of nonwoven mulching, any weed seeds that are in the soil will simply remain dormant, although straw mulching will greatly suppress their development.
