Professional Football Player & Wrestler. For six seasons (1966 to 1971), he played at the linebacker position in the American & National Football Leagues with the Miami Dolphins and San Diego Chargers. Born Robert Eugene Bruggers, he was raised in Minnesota where he attended Danube High School. During this period, he excelled in basketball as he led his school to two state tournaments. He played collegiate football at the University of Minnesota and was signed as a non drafted player by the Miami Dolphins. He had the distinction of being on the Dolphins’ roster during their inaugural season of 1966. He went on to total 57 career regular season games. After retiring from football, he began a professional wrestling career in 1972. He suffered a fractured spine and broken ankle after the plane he was traveling in crashed after it ran out of fuel on October 5th, 1975. The result would be the end of his wrestling career.
