Jeremy Farrell Obituary, Death – Jeremy Farrell, the former general attorney for Jersey City and an executive with the LeFrak Organization for the past five years, died unexpectedly on Monday night, December 4, 2023. He was 44 years old at the time. In addition to his work as special counsel, Farrell was the company’s senior managing director of community and government affairs.

Farrell was the executive director of the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority until joining the firm in 2018. The corporation has a significant amount of real estate in both New York and New Jersey. He began his professional career as a clerk in a federal court before becoming an attorney with McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter Law Firm.

In a statement, Richard LeFrak, chairman and CEO of the LeFrak Organization, stated, “Jeremy was a treasured member of our team and a cornerstone in the community at large, and he leaves an important legacy in Newport and Jersey City.” At this moment, the cause of death has not been revealed. Farrell worked closely with Jersey City officials on a number of public projects, including the creation of Water’s Soul, a sculpture that was installed on the Newport shore.

“I am unable to express how I feel,” Snowball Developments’ Brian Ker posted on Twitter. “I’m completely shattered.” Jeremy was always the one that brought the most light into any room. Farrell’s wife and son, Sarah and Aidan, are the only members of his family to outlive him. Using multiple social media sites, the city’s mayor, Steve Fulop, referred to Farrell as “a wonderful human being.” “He was a man of impeccable character,” Fulop observed, “as well as kind, intelligent, and thoughtful.” “He was my first corporate counsel, a valued advisor, and he deserves equal credit for Jersey City’s accomplishments over the last ten years.” He will be missed by all of us.
