Orla Baxendalea 25-year-old talented dancer, passed away due to allergies on Thursday, January 11, 2024. She was a professional ballet dancer who worked with prestigious companies such as Momix.

What happened to Orla Baxendale?

Orla Bacxendale was discovered unconscious in her apartment in London. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She had allergies that claimed her life. Her sister, Niamh Baxendale, announced the sad news of her tragic demise in a post on social media, which read,

“We are all devastated by the loss of our beautiful and talented Orla who was taken from us far too soon.”

Niamh said her sister, Orla Baxendale, was “so careful and always checked the ingredients before eating anything,” she blamed the manufacturers for misleading marketing strategies. “mislabeling food can kill,” said Niamh who now advocates for allergies and promotes Anaphylaxis UK and Allergy UK.

Who was Orla Baxendale?

Orla Ruth Baxendale was a 25-year-old talented young dancer. Born in Lancashire, England, she moved to New York on December 29, 1998. She graduated from Elmhurst Ballet School in 2018. She was a member of the MOMIX dance company.
She was known for her creativity, versatility, and quirky nature. She was a joyous and full-of-life individual who lived every moment of her life to the fullest and encouraged everyone around her to do the same. She graced many global shows with her talents, like Botanica, Lunar Sea, and Alchemia. Her performances garnered widespread recognition in magazines, documentaries, and podcasts and a loyal fan base.

She was trained in contemporary style and Irish step dance. She found her calling in Ballet and graduated with honors from The Royal Ballet School in 2016. She gained notoriety with her roles, like Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, and Clara in The Nutcracker. She also danced in contemporary Ballet such as Chroma, Infra, and Woolf Works. She was widely praised for her technique, grace, and expressiveness.
