MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – Belarusian Automobile Plant (BelAZ trademark) is set to deepen cooperation with Russia in production of dump trucks, BelAZ Deputy Director General for Marketing and Export policy Vasily Shostak said in a new episode of BelTA’s YouTube project “After the Fact: Lukashenko’s Decisions”.

Vasily Shostak noted that at present all Belarusian dump trucks that are supplied to Russia are one way or another a joint product, because a lot of components used in their production come from Russia. “We are working closely on expanding the assortment and are considering equipping our mining dump trucks with Russia-made internal combustion engines,” he said.

Earlier, the factory reported that they started testing a new 90-tonne BelAZ-75588 mining dump truck fitted with a gas turbine engine. The 1200 hp engine for the dump truck was developed and supplied by the Kaluga Engine (KADVI) enterprise. The engine runs on liquefied gas. Specialists of the A.N. Yegorov R&D Center of the Office of the BelAZ Chief Designer took part in the development of the engine.

“Despite significant shocks, 2022 was a very successful year for us. We shipped over $800 million worth of products to the Russian Federation alone. These were 866 dump trucks of different carrying capacity, special-purpose equipment, and machinery for underground works,” Vasily Shostak said.

In his words, the year 2022 was one of the most successful in the history of BelAZ in terms of shipment to the Russian market.
