Before we sit down to the table for this bright holiday, we say the following prayer:
Glory to You, Who showed us the light!
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,
goodwill among men!
We praise You, we bless You, we worship You, we glorify You, we thank You because of Your great glory.
Lord, King of Heaven, God, Father Almighty,
Lord, only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit!
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
Who takest upon Himself the sin of the world, have mercy on us –
You who take upon You the sins of the world!
Accept our prayer.
You who sit at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us!
Because only You are holy, only You are Lord, Jesus Christ, for the glory of God the Father! Amen!
Every day I will bless You and glorify Your name forever and ever!
Grant us, O Lord, that we may be saved from sin this day!
Blessed are you, Lord God of our fathers,
and praised and glorified be your name forever! Amen!
May your mercy be upon us, Lord,
according as we trust in Thee!
Blessed art thou, Lord, teach me thy statutes!
Lord, you have been our refuge from generation to generation.
I said: Lord, have mercy on me and heal my soul,
because I have sinned against You.
Lord, I have taken refuge in you
teach me to do Your will, for You are my God.
For with You is the source of life;
in Your light we will see light.
Continue Your mercy to those who know You.
Holy God, Holy Strong, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us!
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
