Does it really help? Yes – and the herring, as well as the pickle brine. But there is an even better way – soup, which is quite often served on New Year’s Eve in Germany.

It is really about the wonderful healing soup that warms, strengthens and soothes at the same time. This is not the newest discovery in the world, but the one who tried the soup on New Year’s Day, less often wakes up with a headache, experts say. The most remarkable thing is the following – there are no restrictions regarding the ingredients of the soup, everyone can choose them himself. But there are undoubtedly favorites. Here are some of them:

This elixir for the party night drinkers is made with either fried mincemeat or chopped meat, and maybe with sausages. Finely chopped peppers, corn kernels, beans, tomato paste or canned tomatoes, a little broth or water are added to the meat – the soup should be thick. It is boiled for several hours on a slow fire under a lid, after which it is seasoned with salt and hot pepper. Finally, it can be refined with a spoonful of cognac, and already at the table it should be served with cream and toasted slices.

The finely chopped eggplants and two cloves of garlic are fried, tomato puree and half a glass of red wine are added, then boiled for half an hour under the lid.

Once the decision is made how and with whom to celebrate, it moves to the even more important question: with what? But the New Year’s table must necessarily have dishes that attract happiness and luck.

Then meatballs are made from minced meat, one egg, two tablespoons of semolina, some rosemary, thyme and marjoram. They are dropped into the boiling soup and left there for five minutes. Finally, the soup is seasoned with salt and pepper and served with black bread and hot sauce.

Invigorating beetroot soup. For it, beets, carrots, potatoes and onions should be cut into cubes and fried in oil. Then the vegetables are poured with broth or water, and after boiling, grated horseradish, bay leaf, grated nutmeg and turmeric are added.

The soup is simmered for about an hour, then pureed and seasoned with salt and pepper. And she will like a spoonful of cream.

Of course, hangover soup, as well as everything that decorates the New Year’s table, can be prepared in advance. In this situation, the old year can be sent calmly and without unnecessary stress.
