In July 2022, Josslyn witnessed Sonny and Dex beating up a photographer named Felty (Brian Norris) because he’d been giving drugs to Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson). Joss recorded the incident, but Dex talked her out of handing it over to the authorities. At that moment, sparks flew between Dex and Joss, and “GH” fans were on board for a potential romance.
They would cross paths several times after that. When Ava Jerome (Maura West) was attacked by the Hook serial killer, the two were nearby and worked together to save her life. Ava’s daughter, Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola), had lost her bracelet when visiting her mother in the hospital, and a nearby Dex helped Josslyn successfully search a dumpster for it. Because Dex happened to be in the proximity of two more of the murders, Sonny suspected him of being the Hook and had him tortured. Fortunately, Michael and Joss convinced Sonny to stop. Later, Sonny and Michael both told Dex to stay away from Josslyn.
Despite being forbidden to see each other, the two couldn’t deny their attraction. On New Year’s Eve of 2023, Dex saved Joss’ life on the Port Charles docks from the Hook. That night Joss wasn’t able to find Cam to tell him she wanted to end things and, after the incident on the pier, emotions and adrenaline were running high for her and Dex, and they slept together.
