Answer to Pauline Färdow Kazen: Congratulations to you who have the opportunity to take it easy and work part-time! Unfortunately, you probably misunderstood that part about feminism.
As a feminist, I agree with you that society needs a slowness revolution, a settlement with the overconsumption and money madness we live with in Swedish society. But feminism is a justice movement: to work less and take it easy should be possible for all women (and men) who need it.
The one who is Legally retired, perhaps a single parent, needs it the most and has the least opportunity. Union work, solidarity with other women and insights into finances (such as one’s future pension), that is feminism – not, as you seem to think, “the squirrel wheel and the career ladder†.
As I said, congratulations on your new quiet life with a part-time job! I chose something similar when my youngest child was born and I had financial opportunities. My husband did the same. Hope your husband gets the same opportunity as you!
