At least 13 killed in attack on three houses in Rafah
At least 13 people are said to have been killed in an attack on three houses in Rafah, in the very south of the Gaza Strip, according to health personnel in Gaza. That is what the news agency Reuters writes.
According to the state-run Palestinian news agency Wafa, 15 were killed in the attack, writes Al Jazeera.
It is currently not known whether the attack is part of a long-announced ground invasion of Rafah.
Over 1 million internally displaced Palestinians reside in the city, according to the UN. Several world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, have warned Israel several times against entering the city, for fear of huge civilian casualties.
According to several media outlets, at least seven people have also been killed in attacks on Gaza City.
