Porn actress Stephanie Clifford, known as Stormy Daniels, will now testify in the trial against Donald Trump in New York. The ex-president is accused of having paid her over one million kroner in so-called hush money to keep quiet about a previous sexual relationship before the 2016 presidential election.
The payment to Clifford is the most talked about of the compensations that occur in the current indictment against Trump. When she is now about to testify in the trial, which formally concerns accounting crimes, the attention is enormous. But those waiting for intimate details about Trump will be disappointed.
– We don’t need to hear any details, Judge Juan Merchan told both sides’ lawyers before the hearing.
The defense appealed on Tuesday the decision to let Stephanie Clifford testify, citing a lack of credibility. However, prosecutor Susan Hoffinger assured that the testimony will focus on how Clifford “ended up in a sexual relationship” with Trump.
– It won’t contain details about genitalia or anything like that, she promised.
