Today, Thursday, May 9, 2024, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs attacked European Union foreign policy official Josep Borrell, following a statement in which he said that “Hamas” agreed to a ceasefire, but Israel rejected it.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement that Borrell’s statements “regarding negotiations for the release of hostages (Israeli prisoners) are a dangerous mixture of ignorance, hostility, and legitimization of terrorism,” as she put it.

She added: “In the midst of negotiations to release the 132 hostages and achieve humanitarian relief, Hamas chose to launch rockets towards the Kerem Shalom humanitarian crossing area, which led to the death of four Israeli soldiers.”

The Israeli Foreign Ministry accused Hamas of allegedly “trying to thwart the deal to release the hostages (Israeli prisoners in Gaza).”

The ministry said: “Accepting Hamas’s media manipulation encourages terrorism, and Israel will act wherever necessary to protect its citizens, and will continue to act until the 132 hostages are released and Hamas is eliminated,” it claimed.

Two days ago, Borrell told reporters: “There is no ceasefire agreement, as Hamas agreed and Israel refused,” according to the Euro News website.
