Malin Ullgren on "Cold facts" and SD's troll factories Рolitics

What will happen now?

Should the border go here?

After watching the first part of the “Cold facts†review “Undercover in the troll factory†, these are the questions that remain.

Any other ambiguities surrounding the Sweden Democrats’ propaganda war against Swedish democracy are clearly answered.

Reporter Daniel Andersson has worked for five months within SD’s communications departments to find out the truth about the party’s methods.

For many years journalists have reported that SD has troll factories, i.e. employees who, with lots of fake accounts in social media, spread hatred, whip up the mood in the issues that favor SD, and who by themselves The overwhelming amount of posts gives the impression of a large public opinion.

For example, Dagens ETC did a review before the 2022 election which, through anonymous sources, was able to show just this – SD has troll factories. Jimmie Ã…kesson’s answer? He called it “free imaginations†.

But with the help of the hidden camera, TV4 has now managed to confirm something that at least no person with shame in their body can call “free fantasies†.

It appears, for example, that the supposedly journalistic Youtube channel Riks is in no way independent from the Sweden Democrats – they work together, share content and the party’s communications manager Joakim Wallerstein directs the work .

This too has been eagerly denied by the second largest party in the Riksdag. In the “Cold facts†review, Wallerstein is recorded as he makes sure that the employees are ready for a reporting team from Expressen that will interview SD’s EU candidate Dick Erixon – now they have to The scars between the party and the TV channel are closed, it must not be revealed how closely they work, no “SD caps†must be seen. It is, says Wallerstein, “super important†.

If it wasn’t so tragic, if this wasn’t about Sweden right now, it would be reminiscent of when the creative fraudsters in the movie “Blåsningen†fake respectable betting agency.

So many lies. The lie as a work tool, the lie as a driving force, the lie as a partial soul.

“Cold facts†hidden camera also captures what SD denied most vehemently, namely that there would be employees whose task is to spread disinformation – they exist, of course.

The top three the targets for internet trolls who are active in Sweden are immigration, social democrats and public service. The latter is particularly interesting right now.

Next week, the government’s investigation into public service will be presented. And parts have already been leaked that show how SD’s influence is extensive. In DN (25/4) Jan Scherman has written about what awaits:

†Public service must take into account the lack of trust that exists among citizens who vote for SD and M. This minority group with low trust in public service has low trust in There are many social institutions. How the public service will take into account the mistrust of that particular minority in its offer remains to be seen when the investigation’s writings become public.â€

Since the party’s Nazi origins are not a problem for the Moderates, Christian Democrats and Liberals, of course nothing else can be either.

First, therefore, contributes The Sweden Democrats to whip up disgust for public service, manipulate voters to a new or a higher degree of mistrust – then you make this propaganda lie a task for public service to further cherish and maintain.

If these proposals go through, it must be regarded as one of the most successful blows in the history of Swedish democracy.

The question of when the border should be crossed is actually already overplayed. Ulf Kristersson and his government have no boundaries vis-à-vis the Sweden Democrats. Since the party’s Nazi origins are not a problem for the Moderates, Christian Democrats and Liberals, of course nothing else can be either.

The second part of Kalla fakta’s already admirable review will be broadcast next week. Despite the absence of moral strength, it will still be interesting to see Ulf Kristersson’s response to the revelations.

The responsibility for the survival of Swedish democracy rests with everyone else.
