Man stabbed in central Oslo – two arrested

A man in his 30s is seriously injured in what the police say appears to be a stabbing at Vaterland in central Oslo on the night of Saturday.

Two people have been arrested, the police update at 06.30. It happened just before 06:00 when a patrol saw two people in Greenland who matched the description of the perpetrators from the stabbing. They have been remanded in custody, pending questioning.

– The victim is seriously injured, but not critically, says Roy Langengen of the Oslo police district to NRK.

He says they have control of a knife found in the area.

The police initially said that there had been some kind of confrontation between two factions where one person stabbed another person.

But the head of crime in the Oslo police, Johan Jahr, says that there is no relationship between the parties.

– It appears that it is more common nightlife issues that have started this incident, says Jahr.
