The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philip Lazzarini, announced on Friday that the death toll of the United Nations employees in the Gaza Strip had risen to more than 100 in a month.
Lazzarini wrote in a blog post on his account on the X platform: “The situation in Gaza is devastating, and ending this tragedy requires a humanitarian ceasefire now.”
He added: “More than 100 of our employees in Gaza were confirmed dead within one month.”
The United Nations said: “We honor their memory and appreciate the services they provided.”
Since October 7, Israel has imposed a tight siege, followed by war on the Gaza Strip.
