“A dream come true,” says Anthony Correia from his home in Velserbroek. The 41-year-old trainer started his coaching career in 2014 with the Saturday amateurs of VVH/Velserbroek. “There I learned that a certain shared spirit ensures success.”
Busy existence
Correia has had a very busy life in recent years. In addition to his role as assistant at Telstar, he was also head coach of second division team vv Katwijk. “These were tough years training two clubs.” His two sons Levi and Boaz also noticed this, because kicking a ball on the street was not often an option. “He really does everything for it and has therefore earned it,” said a very proud Boaz.
Aunt Dicky
Finally, some wise advice from Aunt Dicky. The avid and outspoken Telstar fan has known Correia for many years and regularly gives him a big hug. “It’s not a scare monger.”
