There were many changes at Jong AZ compared to the 2-1 victory over VVV-Venlo. Without Ernest Poku, Lewis Schouten and Enoch Mastoras, the team of coach Leeroy Echteld had a difficult time against the number 18 of the first division. “We give up a lot of easy passes,” says Smit. “We had difficulty with their opportunistic way of playing,” said Echteld about the long balls, headed duels and fight that was required.
