Just like in the first half, Telstar got off to a good start after the break. Goal scorer Eddahchouri saw his first shot end up in the side netting this time. Youssef El Kachati shot hard past FC Groningen’s goal for a few minutes. In between, Ronald Koeman Jr had some difficulty with a free kick from Laros Duarte. Groningen did not get further than long shots in this phase.
It was the visitors who equalized in the eight minutes of injury time. Romano Postema made it 1-1 in the dying seconds and plunged Telstar into deep mourning. Due to the late goal, Groningen still has direct promotion in its own hands.
