Well before the end of the lost match against Ajax, the first Volendam players leave the stadium. “We still have to go to dinner,” say two supporters who missed Benaissa Benamar’s goal of honor. Others have long since given up hope. “This was coming. It’s completely justified.”
Yet there are also positive ones. Three young boys are happy that Volendam in the first division will be active on Friday evenings again more often next season. “First go to school, then watch Volendam. That’s wonderful!”
