Despite his eventful departure, Jonk does not regret everything. “I don’t regret boarding, because we achieved our goals with promotion, enforcement, transfer records and a full stadium. But I do regret that we accepted the circumstances at the time.”

“I am proud of what we have achieved. And I can look at myself straight in the mirror. We have written history with a village club and I know that I have become a better trainer. It is very easy to frame negatively, but I am working I prefer to work with people who have a positive outlook on life and see the bigger picture.”
A reunion with the club therefore seems to be ruled out for the time being. “At the moment I certainly don’t see myself coming back. I feel too much negative energy in and around the club. That doesn’t suit me.”
