After admitting that he got mad at them for not returning for Fuller House, John Stamos sends Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen some love on social media. Rumors of Stamos feuding with his former Full House co-stars have been swirling online for years. Recently, the actor finally admitted that he got mad at the Olsens for skipping Fuller House, but now, it seems like it’s all water under the bridge for him.
Taking it to his official Instagram account, Stamos reposted a fan-made video chronicling the evolution of his relationship with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, which started when they worked together in Full House as Uncle Jesse and Michelle. Watch the original video clip from @olsensisters._ below:
The video supposedly only features Stamos and Ashley Olsen moments. However, seeing their scenes from Full House is an effective reminder of both twins’ role in the family sitcom as the youngest Tanner daughter, Michelle.
Why The Olsen Twins Refused To Return As Michelle In Fuller House
When Fuller House premiered in 2016, all the main cast members from the original sitcom reprised their respective roles in the sequel sitcom except for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The twins alternately played the Tanners’ youngest daughter, Michelle, in Full House and were a big factor in its success. So naturally, their absence loomed large over the Netflix series up until it ended after five seasons.
There were actually conflicting reports about the pair’s involvement leading up to Fuller House‘s release. This kept both their fans and co-stars hopeful that it was only a matter of time before they joined the Full House spin-off. Ultimately, however, the Olsen twins stuck to their original decision to skip Fuller House. By then, they were already long retired from acting and were understandably skeptical about being in front of the camera again years after their last project.
Before his death, Bob Saget made it clear that he was still very close to the Olsen twins despite their refusal to appear in Fuller House. When the Danny Tanner actor unexpectedly died in 2022, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen reunited with their Full House co-stars to pay their final respects. Whether they kept in touch with them after that, however, is unknown. Nonetheless, it’s great to know that Stamos has fully let go of his grudge against the twins.
