Floyd was a potential fit as a free agency signing for the Giants, who could use some pass rush depth in a spot that is led by Kayvon Thibodeaux and Azeez Ojulari.

Here’s the case NJ Advance Media’s Bob Brookover made for Floyd back in March:

He will be 31 next season and probably would command a little more money than Houston, but whatever team lands Floyd will be getting an elite pass rusher and possibly at a very good price. In his three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, he compiled 29 sacks. Some argue that he benefitted from playing with Aaron Donald, but even if that’s true he would benefit from playing with Dexter Lawrence, too.

Floyd was selected ninth overall by the Bears in the 2016 NFL Draft and played in Chicago until he signed with the Rams before the 2020 season.
