Residents and guests of Kyiv are advised to refrain from visiting the beaches for safety reasons.

There are no plans to open the beach season in Kyiv this year. The Kiev City State Administration notes this.

The message says that at a meeting of the Standing Commission on Technogenic-Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations of the Kyiv City State Administration, it was decided not to open the beach season in Kyiv, taking into account the effect of martial law.

“As in the previous two years, citizens are not recommended to visit beaches and recreation areas in order to avoid large crowds of people, which will prevent their unhindered access to shelters and refuges during an air raid,” the statement said.

It is noted that, in accordance with current requirements, specialists will perform seasonal work necessary to maintain order and sanitation in beach areas and recreation areas. We are talking about maintaining utility networks, cleaning and sanitizing areas, in particular against insects.

The Kyiv City State Administration recalled that with the introduction of martial law in all regions of Ukraine, for security reasons, restrictions established by local military state administrations apply. In particular, visiting forests and navigating certain watercraft on water bodies is prohibited, and visiting certain tourist routes and sites is limited or prohibited.

Beach season in Kyiv

In Kyiv, the beach season was unofficially opened at the beginning of April. In particular, on April 10, the weather in the capital was calm and very warm; the thermometer reached +26 degrees. That day, on one of the capital’s beaches – on the municipal “Venice” – people unofficially began the beach season. There were vacationers there, sunbathing, and some swimming.

On that day, according to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the water temperature in the Dnieper was 12 degrees.
