Benefits for military personnel and members of their families are not automatically provided after receiving the status of a combat participant, so you must contact the PFU.
The number of combatants in Ukraine continues to increase. In this regard, military personnel and their families have certain benefits from the state. ArmyInform writes about this.
This is provided for by the Ukrainian law “On the status of war veterans and guarantees of their social protection.” The list of benefits includes utilities. Combatants and their relatives receive a 75% discount on rent. The following services are also available:
- 75% discount on utilities (gas, electricity, etc.). Moreover, for people with disabilities the discount is 100%;
- 75% discount on fuel costs for persons living in houses without central heating.
At the same time, the living area for which the discount is provided is 21 square meters. m of heated area per person. An additional 10.5 square meters is provided per family.
Certain benefits are also provided for children of combatants. For example, they have the right to recovery and rest from the state.
Also, at the place of residence, children are primarily provided with places in general education and preschool educational institutions, as well as children’s health camps. In addition, such children can be transferred to a budget-funded form of education while receiving higher education.
Accordingly, accommodation in dormitories with benefits will also be free.
If student children have no debts, then they can also apply for a social scholarship.
“Benefits are not provided automatically after receiving the status of a participant in hostilities. They must be registered. To receive benefits, persons with already registered status as a participant in hostilities must apply to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, regardless of the place of their registration,” the message says.
