The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, explained why the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not stop in the cold season.

According to him, on the battlefield the emphasis is not on armored vehicles, but on anti-tank systems and the use of drones. They actually neutralized the effectiveness of using armored vehicles in the war with the Russian Federation, Budanov pointed out during a speech at the YES forum.

Therefore, cold and dirt are not decisive factors that can aggravate the course of hostilities. There are certain problems with the permeability of the soil in the summer.

“Let’s look at the fall of last year, then no one stopped the fighting. This year it will be exactly the same. The fighting and the offensive in all directions will continue. There are problems with wheeled vehicles even in the summer, tracked vehicles are adapted,” quotes LIGA.net.

Therefore, the Ukrainian Armed Forces primarily fight the Russian Federation “on their feet,” and not using armored vehicles. This is how the fighting took place in the fall of 2022 near Bakhmut, Budanov clarified.

Earlier, at the YES forum, Budanov also stated that the Russian army began to copy the tactics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. She is learning and adapting, now she is fighting like she never fought before the invasion of Ukraine, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate pointed out. As an example, Budanov cited the massive use of drones by the Russian Federation.

The day before, the head of the press center of the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine, Natalya Gumenyuk, also clarified that the Russian army had prepared tactics of “mixed strikes” against our territories for the fall and winter.
