Residential buildings, an educational institution and the office of the Ombudsman were damaged.

In Odessa, due to the missile attack that the city suffered on the night of May 1, there are wounded and killed, houses are damaged, and counter-sabotage measures are being carried out to search for possible henchmen of Russian terrorists.

According to the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine, on the night of May 1, the enemy launched another attack on Odessa with ballistic missiles from the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea. As a result of the hit, administrative and residential buildings, medical and educational institutions were destroyed.

“Since night, work has been underway to eliminate the consequences of the attack. Information about the injured and dead is being clarified,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces said. It is also noted that counter-sabotage activities continue to search and identify possible henchmen of Russian terrorists.

The director of one of the city hospitals, Denis Sebov, told reporters that a 42-year-old man was brought to this medical facility at night, who received multiple wounds due to a rocket attack, a broken hip, and there is a suspicion of other injuries, in particular, a ruptured spleen. Now, after surgery, the victim is in serious condition in intensive care. The doctor added that ten victims of the missile attack on April 29 remain in the same institution, including two people in extremely serious condition, the condition of two more patients was stabilized, but they are still in the intensive care unit.

The press service of the mayor’s office said that due to missile attacks, buildings in the Primorsky district of the city were damaged – doors, windows, etc. were broken. This morning, the operational headquarters began working on Kanatnaya Street, where they provide advice on obtaining financial assistance to replace broken windows and doors.

Among the damaged buildings is the premises where the local Representative Office of the Ukrainian Ombudsman is located. At the time of the hit, there were no workers or applicants in the premises, so no one was injured. The Ombudsman’s office is still working by telephone as work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the shelling.

“However, in order to receive visitors and resume work, we need time. We are already working to eliminate all the consequences of the shelling. He added that this is the fourth Representative Office that has been destroyed by the Russians. Before this, this happened in Kharkov, Vinnitsa and Kherson.

The Odessa OBA noted that in connection with the tragedy that occurred due to missile strikes and led to the death of people, May 2 was declared a day of mourning in the region.

Later, the head of the Odessa regional military administration, Oleg Kiper, said that as a result of the enemy attack, three people were killed and three more were injured. He also assured that the victims are being provided with all necessary medical care. Damage to civilian infrastructure is recorded.

Representative of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ilya Yevlash said that the enemy has now chosen Odessa as its key target. On the night of May 1, the invaders attacked the city with three Iskander-M ballistic missiles – they were launched at densely populated areas of the city.
