The deputy commander of the Achilles battalion noted that the Russians are really doing everything possible to capture Chasov Yar. But their attacks are repulsed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Russian Armed Forces were tasked with capturing Chasov Yar in the Donetsk region before May 9, when Russia celebrates Victory Day. And they throw all their strength into the attack. But the deputy commander of the Achilles attack battalion of the 92nd Separate Brigade, Oles Malyarevich, told Hromadske Radio that everything “that moves in the direction of the city is destroyed” by the Ukrainian military.
Speaking about the situation in and around Chasovoy Yar, the military man noted that several brigades are working there, including the 92nd separate assault brigade. His brigade provides air cover for his colleagues so that the enemy does not capture this settlement.
“They were given the task of capturing the city before May 9, and we were given the task of preventing them from doing this. The enemy has no territorial successes. They (the Russian Armed Forces – ed.) were stopped in the Bogdanovka area, in the Ivanovsky area. To the south are Kleshcheevka and Andreevka, they also tried to seize the territory, several positions were lost there, but the day before yesterday the 92nd brigade returned the positions,” said Malyarevich.
He noted that the situation now in the Bakhmut direction is very difficult and the enemy artillery does not subside. But there are slightly fewer tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. And the Ukrainian military is doing everything possible to prevent the Russians from achieving their goal.
“They are really doing everything possible to capture at least something along the canal line and even a little further,” said Oles Malyarevich.
He also noted that information about the alleged capture of several commanding heights by the enemy, which sometimes appears on social networks, does not correspond to reality. In his opinion, this is written by those bloggers and journalists who want to “publish inside information.”
“Apparently, you want sensations. There is a settlement nearby, Novy Chasov Yar – this is the other side of the canal, near Chasov Yar. Several enemy assault groups ran there, which were destroyed at the same moment. But for some reason, the bloggers decided to say that the Russians were in Chasovoy Yar. They were there, but for quite a short time, they didn’t reach the heights,” said Malyarevich.
“There, in principle, everything that is now moving towards Chasovoy Yar is being destroyed,” he concluded.
Let us remind you that now the defense of Chasovoy Yar is being strengthened by special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Military District. They must stop the attempts of the Russian military to advance towards the agglomeration of Kramatorsk, Konstantinovka, Druzhkovka and Slavyansk.
