Various methods and options are now being developed regarding how and where exactly Western fighters can be deployed in Ukraine.

Ukraine expects to receive Western F-16 fighters this year and is preparing everything necessary to secure these aircraft from the enemy, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Ilya Yevlash said during a telethon.

“When we receive these fighters, we will be able to carry out quite a lot of different operations. Both to repel an air attack and to carry out air strikes on the enemy. But for this it is necessary to prepare their base and location. These are colossal means when it comes to digging underground storage facilities , bunkers where they can be stored,” Yevlash said.

He also added that various methods and options are now being developed regarding how and where exactly Western fighters can be deployed in Ukraine.

“This will be dispersed use on various types of runways and airfields. It will be difficult for the enemy to find them. To do this, they will use a different set of methods to mislead the enemy and at the same time effectively use them. There are already a number of developments and thoughts on how to place the aircraft F-16 in Ukraine,” said Yevlash.

As UNIAN reported, Belgium intends to transfer several of its F-16 fighters to Ukraine by the end of 2024.

According to Business Insider, while American F-16 fighter jets have flown in many challenging environments over the past 50 years, Ukraine may be their most dangerous battlefield yet.

Military expert Alexander Musienko believes that everything is ready to receive F-16 aircraft in Ukraine, but one main condition remains, without which their appearance in our country is still impossible. We are talking about air defense systems.
