famous Ukrainian actress told how the war changed her - UNIAN War in Ukraine news

Every day she tries to help Ukrainians and the military in the rear.

Ukrainian theater and film actress Larisa Rusnak, who is known for the films “Bourgeois’s Birthday,” “Stolen Happiness,” “Captive” and other films, spoke about changes during the war.

She emphasized that February 24, 2022 was a terrible date for her, as for all Ukrainians.

“It was a shock for every person. The moment I heard an explosion in the morning, I immediately woke up and realized that it was not fireworks. I was speechless, I didn’t know what to do. Then the basements began,” Larisa said in an interview with OBOZ.UA. .

Despite the fact that the actress had been actively volunteering since 2014, going to the front and even being in the trenches, she still couldn’t believe that there would be a full-scale invasion. But during the war, according to Rusnak, a lot has changed around her and the actress herself feels the following changes in herself:

“Life has been twisted, and now you see it from a different point – all this absurdity that is happening. It is clear that the world has changed a lot. I have no right to judge anyone, it is inside me. My history of perceiving the world is quite painful. Now I work a lot with a psychologist “To stay afloat, not to go crazy. When you don’t sleep for months because of explosions outside your window, and in the morning you go to work with red eyes and perform a play, it can be difficult.”

Therefore, sessions with a psychologist helped Larisa understand the importance of her work for the military and the audience who now come to the performances.

“A psychologist once told me: “Imagine that each person is a bottle of soda and the cap is screwed on, and you help open this cap! People need their emotions to come out! Make them cry and laugh! I’m treating you alone, and you have no idea how many people you treat and what kind of work you do.” I have the happiness of feeling this pain, these tears, although I think, what is the theater for now? But the theater is crowded,” noted the actress.
