Ford Focus has been produced since 1998 and is the most popular passenger car model of the brand. More than 18 million of these cars have already been sold.
Ford Focus will soon be discontinued. The C-Class model will cease production in mid-2025. This information was confirmed to the British publication Autocar by the head of the European branch of Ford Motor, Martin Sander.
According to him, Ford has no plans to continue production of the Focus. Instead, the concern will focus on creating electric vehicles and soon we will see an increase in production volumes of the model. In addition, by the end of this year, the brand’s electric line is expected to expand.

Ford is not ruling out the possibility of creating compact electric cars the size of a Focus or Fiesta, but they will appear after four electric crossovers are launched on the European market.

The reason for abandoning the Ford Focus was not only the focus on electric vehicles, but also a decrease in demand for the model, because buyers prefer crossovers. If in 2014 870 thousand Ford Focus were sold, then in 2020 – already 207 thousand, and in 2022 – only 93 thousand. The model has already left the North American market.

Despite this, the Ford Focus remains the most popular passenger model of the brand: since 1998, more than 17 million of these cars have been produced – more than the famous mass-produced Ford T. Only the Ford F-Series pickup has sold out in large numbers.
By the way, it recently became known that Subaru Legacy will also cease production in 2025.
