German-born Hollywood actor Christian Oliver died along with his two young daughters when their small plane crashed into the Caribbean Sea minutes after takeoff, local police said.

Christian Oliver, who starred with George Clooney in the film “The Good German” and the 2008 action-comedy “Speed ​​Racer,” died on Thursday aboard a private single-engine plane, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police said in a statement.

Fishermen, divers and coast guards immediately rushed to the scene where four bodies were discovered.

Christian Oliver, 51, died along with his daughters Madita, 10, and Annick, 12, and pilot Robert Sachs. The plane was flying from Bequia, a small island in the Grenadines, to St. Lucia shortly after noon on Thursday.

The family appeared to be on vacation: a few days earlier, Oliver posted an image of a tropical beach on Instagram with the caption: “Welcome to paradise! Towards society and love… 2024, we are coming!”

Oliver, born Christian Klepser, has more than 60 film and television credits, including a small role in Tom Cruise’s Valkyrie.

Early career roles included the television series Saved by the Bell: The New Class and the film The Baby-Sitters Club.

In his native Germany, Oliver starred in the popular police show Alarm fuer Cobra 11 for two seasons.
