Colombian-American actress and model Sofia Vergara said that despite her age, she could have another child with the help of “science.” But in her marriage to actor Joe Manganiello, she did not consider it “fair” to have children, People reports.
“There are things in life that might seem like good ideas, but they’re not. I was already a mother,” the actress explained, referring to her 32-year-old son with Joe Gonzalez’s first husband, Manolo Gonzalez Vergara.
“I know what it’s like to be a good mother or to try to be the best mother you can be, and that takes a lot of sacrifice, it takes a lot of energy,” she continued. Sofia, 51, said that despite her age, she could have had another child with the help of “science,” but ultimately it wasn’t her plan to raise a newborn.
“I completely respect the desire to become a mother after 50. Because of my career, the way I live, the way my marriage has been, I didn’t think it would be fair to bring a child into this world. My marriage fell apart because my husband was younger; he wanted to have children, and I didn’t want to be an old mother,” the model explained.
