The singer admitted that singing is becoming more and more difficult for him every year, and he is afraid of not meeting his standards.

62-year-old American musician Jon Bon Jovi, who underwent surgery on his vocal cords in 2022, said he would end his career if his voice did not return. The artist announced this in a new interview with The Sunday Times.

Despite being nearly two years after his throat surgery, Bon Jovi still undergoes vocal therapy to maintain the condition of his voice, which he hopes to improve over time.

At the same time, he thinks that future performances will no longer meet his standards.

“I’m saying this for the first time. If the singing isn’t good, if I can’t be the guy I once was… then I’m done. And I’m okay with that,” the musician admitted.

Bon Jovi noted that he continued to engage in musical activities even after the operation:

“There’s a big difference between being in the studio and being on tour. We just recorded a new album. I sing in vocal therapy every day.”

John says he doesn’t want to disappoint his fans if things go wrong

“I want to perform two and a half hours a day, four nights a week – and I know how good I can be, so if I can’t sing… Let’s just say I’ll have to be fat Elvis someday,” he said. Bon Jovi.

The celebrity emphasized that singing became more and more difficult with age, and the prospect of never being able to perform in front of his fans weighed heavily on him.

“I can tell you that 60 is different from 50. My worry right now is that I’ll forget how to sing. I’ll be crushed if I can’t sing live again, but what does a defender do when faced with the last ball he’ll ever throw? ” – the artist continued.

John concluded by showing his enthusiasm for Bon Jovi’s new album and expressing his gratitude for the longevity he has experienced in his career:

“I want to look back on Bon Jovi’s 40th anniversary and look forward to the new album and appreciate everything. That’s my hope: to find joy in it all,” he said.

Recording of the band’s 16th album, Forever, began in October last year. The following month, the band released the holiday single Christmas Isn’t Christmas.

In March of this year, Bon Jovi presented the single Legendary and its video.

The release of the band’s new album is scheduled for June 7.
