The Russian Armed Forces used a convoy of eight motorcycles and three armored vehicles to break through near Ugledar. However, the attempt was in vain due to successful drops from drones, Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters said.
Attack drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit a flock of Russian combat motorcycles that were trying to break through on the front segment between Ugledar and Marinka. The motorcycle detachment was accompanied by two armored infantry vehicles (IFVs) and a tank. How they managed to stop the enemy attack was reported on the Facebook page of the 79th separate Tavrian air assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In the video published on May 7, you can see a group of motorcyclists of the Russian Armed Forces rushing along the shore of an unknown body of water. A moment later, a shell hits the road along which they are moving and a column of smoke rises. The following footage shows how Ukrainian Armed Forces strike drones repeatedly drop explosives on Russian equipment, which is lying on the site, burning and smoking.
The note of the 79th brigade indicates that the event occurred near Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk region. The Russians tried to carry out a “daring breakthrough” at the position of the Tavrian brigade. The attempts of the “racers” were appreciated by the UAV operators, who punished them for driving super fast in the wrong place, the fighters jokingly wrote.
“Our attack drone operators did not appreciate the creativity and each racer was given a fine for speeding long before the finish line,” the message says.
The fighters reported that they managed to destroy eight motorcycles and one infantry fighting vehicle. Another armored vehicle and a tank were also damaged.
Let us note that Novomikhailovka is a settlement halfway from the occupied Marinka to the Ukrainian-controlled city of Ugledar. The village has been under occupation since April 24, 2024, previously wrote Focus. The nearest populated area with a body of water where the events in the video could take place is the village of Paraskovievka.

Meanwhile, on May 2, the Ukrainian military spoke about another assault on the Russian Armed Forces, during which the enemy used several dozen tanks. After many hours of battle, they managed to neutralize 42 pieces of equipment – tanks and other armored vehicles. At the same time, in April it became clear that the enemy had indeed begun to use motorcycles on the battlefield, in particular in the Bakhmut direction. Then they saw that they were trying to protect them from drones using nets.
We remind you that on May 7, changes occurred on the front segment in the Avdeevsky direction: the Russians managed to advance near the village of Novopokrovskoye, south of Ocheretino. A few days earlier, it became known that the situation to the north had worsened, as the enemy had managed to occupy Arkhangelskoye. Meanwhile, the ex-platoon commander of the Aidar battalion explained what was happening near Chasovoy Yar in the Donetsk region.
