Only certain categories of students have the right to travel.
The Cabinet of Ministers has updated the rules for crossing the border for students. Now not only girls, but also boys can also go to study under academic mobility programs. The government provided details of the changes.
Thus, students can even travel outside the country for study or internship. Previously, due to martial law, only girls could receive knowledge at universities abroad. However, the government has adopted changes allowing men to also participate in academic mobility programs.
To cross the border, men must:
- be between 18 and 22 years of age;
- not be subject to conscription for military service upon mobilization;
- become a participant in academic mobility for a period of 1 semester;
- study full-time in institutions of higher education in Ukraine of state or municipal ownership;
- obtain a bachelor’s degree in any specialty (or a master’s degree in medical, pharmaceutical or veterinary fields).
At the same time, you need to prepare the following documents:
- student e-ticket;
- a certified copy of the agreement with a foreign university on admission to the academic mobility program;
- military reference document from the Territorial Acquisition Center;
- a certificate from the educational institution about sending a participant in the academic mobility program to study at a foreign university.
At the same time, the certificate must indicate the grounds for cooperation, the duration of the academic semester abroad, the absence of negative grades based on the results of the last two semesters and the facts of retaking tests and exams.
Confirmation of the level of knowledge of the language of instruction in a foreign educational institution is also required.
Rules for traveling abroad
The State Border Service of Ukraine reported that the government may make changes to the rules for crossing the border after the law on mobilization comes into force. Now, according to the rules that are in force, certain categories of men who have a deferment can cross the border.
Previously, UNIAN wrote that students aged 18 to 22 years are allowed to travel abroad for internships. This applies to masters in medical, pharmaceutical and veterinary areas.
