The London Foreign Office confirmed that Jordan Chadwick, who had been fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces since October 2022, died under unknown circumstances. His body has already been sent home to his family.
A volunteer from Great Britain died in the war in Ukraine. Jordan Chadwick’s body was found in a pool with his hands tied. This was reported by Sky News on September 8.
The 31-year-old foreigner was a member of the International Legion and came to fight on the side of Ukraine against the Russian Federation back in October 2022.
His death, as Sky News journalists noted in their material, has already been confirmed by the British Foreign Office and an investigation is ongoing.
“We are providing assistance to the family of a British man who died in Ukraine and are in contact with local authorities,” said a British diplomatic representative.

His body was found in one of the reservoirs on the territory of Ukraine and unknown persons tied his hands behind his back. The investigation will try to find out exactly how the British man died and who killed him.

Jordan Chadwick’s mother, Brenda, in a comment to the BBC, said that since childhood, her son dreamed of connecting his future with military affairs and becoming a soldier. He had a developed sense of justice, which prompted him almost a year ago to help Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
“His passion for supporting freedom and helping others with his skills led him to leave the UK and travel to Ukraine in early October 2022,” the woman says.
She learned that Jordan Chadwick had died on June 26, and the tragic news plunged her mother into shock. Already on August 7, his body was sent to his homeland, where the family had the opportunity to say goodbye to the military man.
“While we are extremely proud of his unwavering courage and resilience, his death was devastating to us. There are no words to describe the loss of such a short life. A son, brother, grandson, nephew and uncle who was loved beyond measure,” the woman continued.

Jordan Chadwick is from Burnley in Lancashire. He served in the British Army from 2011 to 2015. After that, he did not abandon military affairs and continued to engage in it.
