French businessman Philippe Pozzo di Borgo, who gained fame as the prototype of the protagonist of the movie “1 + 1”, has died at the age of 73, writes Sputnik.
The businessman came from a Corsican noble family, in 1993 he had an accident while pargliding, as a result, di Borgo remained paralyzed.
The film, known at the Belarusian box office as “1+1” (French – “Intouchables”), is based on the story of di Borgo and his assistant and former prisoner Abdel Cellu, who helped him return to normal life.
Released in 2011, the tape was a huge audience success and, with a budget of $ 11.5 million, managed to collect more than 426 million in theaters.
