IstanbulA cleaning worker and a gardener working in a site in , took 2 stray stray dogs that were attacking children out of the site.

ONE OF THE SITE RESIDENTS COMPLAINED

Taking action upon the complaint of one of the citizens living on the site, the Istanbul Governorship Provincial Police Department sent a letter to the Esenyurt District Governorship, instructing the site officials to impose a fine of 7,216 TL per animal.

ACCUSED OF “MAKING PHYSICAL PAIN TO ANIMALS”

While the site officials who were faced with such a punishment while trying to protect children from stray dogs were in great shock, the accusations against them were: “Intentionally mistreating animals, beating them, leaving them hungry and thirsty, exposing them to extreme cold and heat, neglecting their care, physical and psychological was listed as “inflicting pain”.

TOTAL 14 THOUSAND TL PENALTY

An administrative fine of 14,432 TL in total was imposed on two officers who took the dogs out of the site upon the instructions of the Police. While trying to protect children from stray dogs, the site officials were shocked to encounter such a penalty and stated that they would appeal the decision.
