“The European Union must consider transforming the European Peace Facility, which has been used to finance Ukraine’s arms supply, into a more sustainable tool for long-term arms supply to that country,” EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said today as he entered the EU summit in Brussels.
“We are talking about security obligations. For my part, this means that military support for Ukraine must be long-term (…) during and after the war.”
Borrell said.
As the head of EU diplomacy pointed out – “so the European Peace Facility for Ukraine can become Ukraine’s Defense Fund; training must continue, the modernization of the army must continue.”
