World news

A teenager, a 2nd year student of the technical course in informatics on the IFRO campus, had her life saved thanks to the quick action of the Fire Department in Vilhena. The incident occurred on the morning of this Friday, 02, when the young woman had a strong allergic reaction.

According to information gathered by the newspaper, the student and other colleagues were in the courtyard of the campus for a practical Biology class. After coming into contact with a flower, the girl began to sneeze and feel sick. Alerted by classmates and the teacher, who suspected a possible obstruction of the airways due to pollen allergy, the Fire Department was called.

According to an IFRO employee, the teacher had previously advised allergic students not to touch the plants during the practical class. It was only after the incident that the teenager mentioned her allergy.

The prompt response of the Fire Department, which took the young woman to the emergency room at the Regional Hospital, was decisive for her survival. If the care had been delayed, the student would have faced breathing difficulties that could be fatal.
