One person is dead and seven injured in the third consecutive night of attacks in Kiev. Ukraine’s defense forces said it had shot down more than 20 drones in a new wave of Russian airstrikes on the country’s capital.

The mayor of the city, Vitaly Klitschko, has reported the third night of Russia’s attacks on Kiev in a row. In a series of several entries on Telegram, he lists the successive districts of the city that have been attacked. Explosions and fires mainly affect residential buildings and civilian targets. Klitschko warns residents to stay in their shelters until the air-raid alert ends. The photos in front of the attacked and burning buildings show evacuated people who look with disbelief at the bestial attacks on their lives and property. “The attack was massive, it came from different directions, in several waves,” Serhiy Popko, head of Kiev’s military administration, said on Telegram. Parts of the downed drones fell in several districts of the capital, including the historical districts of the city: Podolsky and Pechersk. It was not immediately known how many drones Russia had launched.

The General Staff of Ukraine announced on Tuesday morning about the latest Russian bombing of Ukrainian cities. Over the last 24 hours, the aggressors have carried out massive rocket attacks throughout Ukraine. Russia has used cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and various types of drones. The forces and means of the Air Force managed to shoot down all the missiles flying to Kiev. In total, the Russians carried out 62 air strikes and 54 bombings using rocket artillery. There are civilian deaths. Residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged.

The Ukrainian army reports that the Russians are focusing their efforts on taking over the Lugansk and Donetsk regions. Over the past day, units of the defense forces repulsed 27 attacks there. The General Staff estimates that in the occupied territories, repressions against the inhabitants are intensifying. In the Kherson region, Russians are searching private houses. They check documents and contents of mobile phones in an attempt to intimidate residents. They say they’re looking for partisans.

Over the last 24 hours, the Ukrainian air force has carried out 15 strikes on areas where Russian troops and equipment are concentrated. Together with missile units, it destroyed three military material and weapons depots, as well as three enemy vehicles.
