ANOTHER big thing is coming from Apple, and when we say “big,” we mean “expensive.”
On Monday, June 5, the company will very likely present its brand new product, which Apple has not yet presented. The name is Reality Pro and it will be powered by a new operating system called xrOS.
VR, AR, MR?
In short, Reality Pro is a VR/AR device which means that it is a combination of virtual and augmented reality and although it is still speculation at this point, experience has taught us that speculation in the case of Apple products is very often accurate.
Apple has protected several names, but many speculate that the device will be called Reality Pro and some speculate that it will be an expensive device with a price tag of as much as 3,000 euros. And while the price of the competition is much more acceptable in this matter, Apple will very likely try to justify the peppery price in every possible way at its presentation.
It’s not like the others
We only have a bunch of guesses at our disposal at this point, but the device will reportedly be connected by a cable to an external battery, which would mean that the device itself will be different from what we are used to in the VR world. In addition, Apple has always known with design, so there is a good chance that the device itself will be very light and easy to use.
Of the recognizable design solutions, there will probably be a “digital crown” (Digital Crown), which you will primarily use to switch from virtual to augmented reality and vice versa. In other words, you will turn the world and people around you on and off with one stroke.
Although we usually talk about VR in the context of video games, Reality Pro should be a device with a slightly different purpose and closer to everyday use. Of course, there will always be a place for video games, but RP should focus on applications in sports, programming, design, production and the like.
What is “under the hood”?
All of this will be powered by one or even two M2 chips and two Sony 4K OLED screens with over ten cameras that will track not only the world around you but also your pupils and hand movements (since the system doesn’t come with controllers like the Meta Quest or PSVR 2). There is also some speculation that Apple will also integrate a pupil scanner into the device to provide the identification needed to turn on the device or make payments.
These are two extremely powerful chips that, in terms of processing power, are stronger than anything else on the market, which can mean that most of it will be used to make the overall experience smooth, but also allow you to play some more impressive titles.

However, we should not look at Reality Pro in the context of what we are used to, but what Apple is most likely going for. The idea in this case is not to completely disconnect you from the world around you, but to make the world around you blend as well as possible with the technology that the device offers.
In other words, Apple will seamlessly merge virtual objects with the real world and enable new experiences that were unavailable on previous Apple devices.
As for the battery, some articles say that it will last for two hours of continuous use, which sounds like a little, but the Meta Quest 2 also offers the same. However, since it is Apple, it will probably fall behind the upcoming devices ( Meta Quest 3) and convince us that there is no better.
Something for everyone
As for xrOS, it will supposedly be in line with other Apple operating systems, but with the expected changes. In short, with a combination of eye movements and gestures, you will perform a number of different tasks. The device will have its own App Store and the ability to launch applications from iPhone and iPad.
Some predict that you will be able to create animated objects by talking to Siri.
All in all, it will be another Apple device perfectly integrated into the Apple ecosystem. You will use Safari, Maps, Apple Music and Face Time, but also a number of new applications. There will be games, a portal to watch sports events, the ability to use the device as an external monitor for Mac, tools, fitness apps and more.
You’ll be able to pair with an iPhone and a Mac, but they won’t be necessary as the Reality Pro is meant to be a stand-alone device.
As the rumors say, this will be the first AR/VR/MR device that Apple is working on, and starting next year we could get cheaper, but also far more expensive, Pro devices.
